Roller Coasters Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg


Roller Coasters in the Smokies offer hours of fun on your Smoky Mountain vacation. You will discover unique roller coasters with great mountain views.  Take a few days and make your way around to all the roller coasters in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. You can ride four alpine coasters that take you winding through the mountains, uphill and downhill, at a speed of 27-30 mph or slower if you choose.

Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster
Experience a thrilling ride on a beautiful mountainside. This alpine coaster is located on the Parkway in downtown Gatlinburg.

Gatlinburg Space Needle

This 42-foot high observation deck overlooks the city of Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains. You can also enjoy laser tag, arcades, old time photography, and a virtual roller coaster.

Rowdy Bear Mountain
The Rowdy Bear Mountain Coaster allows you to experience the Great Smoky Mountains in a fun, fast, and unique way, reaching speeds up to 35 mph. You control the speed! This is a gravity-propelled alpine mountain coaster that reaches speeds up to 35 mph while it winds through the woods.

Ski Mountain Coaster
Ski Mountain Coaster at Ober Gatlinburg starts with a peaceful 1000 ft uphill ride through a forested area that borders Great Smoky Mountains National Park. When you arrive at the top, you will be whisked down 2750 ft of adrenaline pumping turns, dips, zigs, zags, corkscrews and G-force action adventures.

Dollywood Theme Park
There are several great roller coasters inside the park:  Firechaser Express™, Tennessee Tornado, Thunderhead, Sideshow Spin, and Lightning Rod (shown in picture above), the world’s first launched and fastest wood coaster.

Lightning Rod at Dollywood
In 2016 the Dollywood theme park added another coaster called Lightning Rod. It is the world’s fastest wooden roller coaster and the world’s first launching wooden roller coaster. The thrilling $22 million ride is the largest attraction investment in the park’s history.

Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster
This wooden coaster has over 1 mile of track, the longest downhill ride in the U.S. The coaster is open even if it’s raining or snowing. Can you imagine how fun this ride would be when it is snowing?

The Coaster At Goats On The Roof

This amazing, adrenaline pumping ride coaster ride is for kids of all ages! You will travel at 30 mph up and down mountainsides as you experiences views that can’t be seen anywhere else in Pigeon Forge.
